See it in action

From the map to the enemy’s entry, on to its behaviour and a playtest task. The real app, exactly as you’ll use it.

Curioso, thinking

With sound

sound familiar?

Your game lives in twenty places at once.

Ideas on one board, tasks on another, lore in docs, stats in a spreadsheet, maps in a sketchbook. Change one thing and nothing else knows.

Ravnote puts it all in one project, and keeps it linked.

Before

Whiteboard app · task tracker · wiki · spreadsheet · diagram tool · sketchbook

With Ravnote

One project per game. Every note, sheet, level and task knows where it’s mentioned.

Nine tools. One conversation.

Each one covers a part of game design. All of them share the same project, the same search and the same links.

The infinite canvas with sticky notes, stickers and a board card A task board with idea, backlog and in-progress lists A game vision note with headings and links The protagonist’s dossier: what she wants, what she needs, her flaw and her arc The level editor with a house, walls, furniture and placed enemies A state diagram for a guard AI An enemy balance sheet with formulas and a summary row A level pacing curve The link map with connected documents

to think big

Infinite canvas

A borderless space to drop ideas, references and images and arrange them at your pace.

  • Notes, text, shapes, images, frames and Curioso stickers
  • Mind maps with Tab and Enter
  • Drag entries, levels or tasks from the project onto the canvas
The link map: every page as a feather connected to the ones it mentions

just type two brackets

Link anything with [[ ]]

Mention an enemy in a note, a level in a task, a diagram in your GDD. Every page shows who links to it, and renaming updates every link.

The guardian patrols the Prologue house following the Guard AI. If it spots you, it calls the Night guard.

The link map draws your project as connected feathers, so you can see at a glance what depends on what.

numbers in plain sight

Balance your game without fighting a spreadsheet

Chronicles entries

Characters, enemies, bosses, items, weapons and places, with stats as draggable bars. A gauge rates each enemy’s threat from its own numbers.

Threat
High
DPS · effective health · group

Balance tables

Formulas you can read in plain words, slider parameters and a live chart. Templates for XP curves, economy, enemies, weapons and towers.

XP needed

Pacing curves

Shape a level’s intensity beat by beat, or generate it from the player’s route on the map. Ravnote flags flat stretches and missing breathers, and linked curves show the whole game from start to finish.

Send and receive feathers

A feather is a .ravn file holding whatever you want to share: an enemy, a map with its sheets, a board or a whole project, images included. The receiver gets a preview and picks where it goes.

Send it back with changes and the original updates instead of duplicating.

your ideas stay yours

Local. Private. Yours.

No accounts, no servers

No sign-up, no forced cloud, no tracking. Ravnote never phones home.

Works offline

Design on a train, in a library or at a jam with no wifi. Everything ships inside the app.

Automatic backups

Saves as you go, keeps compressed backups that never balloon, and repairs a damaged file instead of losing it.

Meet Curioso

Ravnote’s raven stashes your stray ideas in his hoard of shinies (even from another app, with Ctrl+Shift+Space), nudges you about unfinished work and gives your canvas stickers a face.

Questions

What does it run on?

Windows (installer or portable) and Linux (AppImage, a single file). A Mac version will come later.

Where do my projects live?

On your computer, in a folder you can open from the app. To use them on several machines, link a Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox folder.

Can I use it with a team?

Yes, with feathers: .ravn files that carry whatever you share. There’s no live co-editing; everyone works on their copy and sends changes.

Can I take my work elsewhere?

Yes. Export to an Obsidian vault, Markdown, CSV, JSON for Unity, Godot or Unreal, SVG, Mermaid or a web page.

Windows warns me on install. Is that normal?

Yes. The app is new and Windows doesn’t know it yet. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
